Mackenzie Driscoll scored a game-high five goals, including a key strike late in the second half as visiting Thomas College held on for an 11-7 win over Dean College in non-league women's lacrosse action on Monday afternoon on a chilly Grant Field.

The Terriers opened the game by jumping out to a 3-0 lead as Tanasia Eldon, Driscoll and Alexis Felch all tallied markers.

Dean did get on the board when Makayla Fisher (Irvington, N.J.) scored her first of the afternoon with help from Lauryn Wilks (Hartford, Conn.).

Driscoll and Felch added goals to push their lead to 5-1 before Fisher found the back of the net again before halftime and the Bulldogs were within three, 5-2, at intermission.

As the second half opened up, Dean quickly netted a pair of strikes from Genesis Johnson (Norwalk, Conn.) and Wilks and suddenly, the game was 5-4.

Felch scored again to give Thomas a little breathing room but Nicole Romero (Winchendon, Mass.) recorded a free position score and it was still a one goal game.

Driscoll was at it again a few minutes later and when Eldon recorded another, the Terriers looked to be in good shape and then the teams traded scores as Wilks and Driscoll added to their stat lines and it was now 9-6.

Nearly six minutes went by without a goal but then Romero made a coast to coast dash and scored to bring the Bulldogs to within two at 9-7 with less than five minutes left.

Unfortunately for Dean, that would be as close as they would get as the Terriers scored the final two goals of the game, including Driscoll's fifth that put the game out of reach.

Fisher, Romero and Wilks all scored two goals each for Dean, who also got a stellar performance in goal from Jamaya Cleveland (Greensboro, Ga.). Cleveland, made serval highlight reel saves, including one where she raced back into the goal mouth and made a kick save on a shot on an open goal.

Dean is back in action on Wednesday when they host Rivier University at 4:00 PM.
