A foursome of Curry College pitchers limited Dean College to nine hits in their two games and the host Colonels swept a non-conference doubleheader with the Bulldogs by winning the opener 9-1 and then 10-3 in the nightcap.

In the first game, Curry starter Mikayla Lambert struck out seven batters in just five innings of work and also drove in three runs at the plate to guide the Colonels to a 9-1 win.

Lambert wasted little time getting Curry on the board with an RBI single to left in the bottom of the first and after Kiana Lloyd drove in a run of her own with a sharp single, the Colonels were in front 2-0.

That lead doubled in the fourth when Kevi Oatway smacked a two-run double off of Dean starter Karissa Menzinger (Centereach, N.Y.).

Olivia Cassidy (Concord, Mass.) drove in the Bulldogs' lone run with an unearned run in the top of the fifth but Allison May got that run back in the bottom of the frame with her infield single and then Lambert drove in two more with a single to center.

In the second game, Dean actually took the lead in the top of the first when Makenzie Sousa (New Bedford, Mass.) drove in a run on a fielding error.

That Bulldog lead didn't last long as the Colonels answered with four runs in the bottom of the first, highlighted by a two-run double from Taylor Newcomb.

Curry pushed five more runs across in the third – two of which came off of the bat of Lloyd who blasted her first collegiate homerun.

Now down, 9-1, Dean got two back when Cassidy stroked a two-single to center that plated both Courtney Holden (Bridgeport, Conn.) and Ali Nelson (Candia, N.H.).

The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Pine Manor for a 3:00 PM first pitch.
