Amherst, Mass. – Dean College senior standout Anthony Trasacco (Cheshire, Conn.) has been selected to participate in the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) East-West Senior All-Star Game it was announced on Wednesday.
All student-athletes and coaches were nominated by the head coaches within the NEILA and student-athletes were then ranked and selected by a committee, awarding seniors from all three NCAA Divisions who played their college career in the New England region.
"This is a great opportunity to highlight the college careers of these young men," said Tim Murphy, head coach of Curry College and coordinator of the East-West All-Star team selections. "For many, it is one last time for them to play an organized game against such high competition and it is also a chance to compete with players you may have battled against throughout your college career."
Trasacco wrapped up a stellar collegiate career by finishing with exactly 200 career points (138 goals, 62 points) following a monster senior campaign that saw him total 83 points.
He earned first-team all-conference accolades from the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) in both his junior (2018) and senior (2019) seasons after leading the conference in goals scored in 2018 (45) and then in points in 2019.
His goals per game average (4.07) this season rank tenth in the NCAA Division III national rankings and his 6.38 points per game rank second.
Amazingly, Trasacco had six games with five goals or more – including the final four games of his career where he combined to score 21 goals. He scored at least two goals in every game this season and scored three goals or more in 20 of his final 27 career games.
The game will take place at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, R.I. on Friday, May 31. Face-off will be at 6:00 PM.
