Headlining the trio of honorees is the 2019 NECC Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Year in Louis Piccolo (Foxboro, Mass.). He is joined on the first-team by star attackman Anthony Trasacco (Cheshire, Conn.) and defensive stalwart Westley Reel (Lakeville, Conn.).

Piccolo burst on to the scene on in his first collegiate contest, scoring six goals and adding an assist in a win over NVU-Johnson. The offensive onslaught continued throughout the season as he score at least one goal in every game this season, including three others where he scored five goals or more.

The three-time NECC Rookie of the Week, Piccolo finished the regular season with 41 goals and 51 points, good for third and fourth, respectively, among all league players. His 3.41 goals per game rank second among all freshmen in the country behind only Max Waldbaum of Tufts (3.62).

For Trasacco, the first-team selection is the second in row for one of the country's most explosive scorers. He led the NECC in goals scored (48) and points scored (77) for the second straight season and his point total this season is 15 points more than the student-athlete in second place.

Trasacco eclipsed the 100 goal milestone early on in the season and now sits at 133 and is close to reaching 200 career points (194). He has been named NECC Player of the Week three times in his career, including twice this season.

His 2019 season saw him score at least two goals in every game and have five games in which he scored five goals or more. Trasacco was dominant down the stretch of the season, scoring 16 goals and dishing out 11 assists (27 points) in his last three games – sending his point per game total to 6.41, good for third in the country.

Reel, meanwhile, had a stellar return to the field after missing almost all of 2018 with an injury. He started all 12 games to anchor a defense that allowed the fewest goals in the league this season and finish second in goals against average (10.33).

In addition to his defensive exploits, Reel was able to find the back of the net on three occasions this season, getting goals against NVU-Johnson, Thomas College and Nichols.
