THE LEAD:

scored two goals less than four minutes into the game and Colby-Sawyer won for the fourth time in their last five games by knocking off host Dean College, 8-0, in non-conference field hockey action on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
While Jones got the scoring going, she was not the only one to find the back of the cage. Julia Lanctot and Lauryn Masse followed up with strikes before halftime, sending the Chargers into intermission with a 4-0 advantage.

Bella Robinson got Colby-Sawyer on the board early in the second half and that tally was followed by Marissa Nance setting up Abbey Halloran at 52:17.

Massey and Nance then finished off the scoring with unassisted goals three minutes apart.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
The Chargers held a 31-0 edge in shots and a 12-0 advantage in penalty corners. Amari Dias (Brockton, Mass.) finished with 13 saves in goal for Dean, while her counterpart, Julia Carr didn't need to make any saves to record her first career victory.

UP NEXT:
Dean is off until Tuesday when they travel to Johnson & Wales for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference contest.
