Mansfield, Mass. – For the second time this season and third time in his career, Dean College senior defensive back, Shannon Moxey (Austell, Ga.) has been named the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) Defensive Player of the Week it was announced on Monday by the league office.
Moxey played a monster role in helping the Bulldogs secure a 50-46 win over Alfred State on Saturday, stuffing the stat sheet as Dean won its fourth straight game.
He ended with nine tackles, a key fourth quarter interception, a pass breakup, a fourth quarter blocked extra point and had a momentum-changing 47-yard touchdown catch on a fake punt that saw him outrace a defender to the pylon.
The league-leader in interceptions for the second straight season, Moxey has ten career interceptions, 11 career pass breakups and 107 all-time tackles.
Moxey and the Bulldogs return to action on Saturday with their final regular season contest against Castleton University at 12:00 PM.
