THE LEAD:
Amanda Barton
finished with five goals and Dzenana Omerovic added four more and visiting Rivier University posted a 20-5 win over Dean College in non-league women's lacrosse action on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Raiders ended up scoring the final ten goals of the game, including all six in the second half. That wasn't the case at the start as the game was neck and neck over the first 15 minutes. The teams traded goals as Makayla Fisher (Irvington, N.J.) and Lauryn Wilks (Hartford, Conn.) got on the board for the Bulldogs in the game's first five minutes.

After Rivier recorded back-to-back goals, Fisher answered back and then Omerovic and Genesis Johnson (Norwalk, Conn.) scored for their respective squads to make the game, 5-4.

The Raiders then ran off five straight to surge ahead but Fisher was at it again to break the stretch. That tally with a little more than ten minutes left in the first half ended up being the Bulldogs' final score of the game, as Rivier put four on the board in the final six minutes of the first half to go into intermission ahead, 14-5.

That lead only grew in the second half as Rivier held Dean scoreless while recording six goals of their own to take a 20-5 victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Fisher finished with three goals and an assist, while Wilks tallied a goal and an assist. Jamaya Cleveland (Greensboro, Ga.) made a season-best 21 saves in goal for the Bulldogs, who were outshot, 51-21.

UP NEXT:
Dean is back in action on Saturday when they return to New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action at Southern Vermont.
