THE LEAD:
Visiting Dean College saw their five-match winning streak come to a screeching halt as Elms College handed the Bulldogs a 3-0 defeat on Saturday afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) men's volleyball action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Blazers hot an incredible .923 in the opening set, getting 12 kills in 13 attacks on their way to a 25-6 first frame victory.

That offensive production continued in the second set as they totaled 12 more kills in a 25-16 triumph.

In the final set, they actually recorded 15 kills as they swept the match, 25-20.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Elms hit .453 for the match, with Jeremy Torres leading the way with 12 kills and just one error.

Diondre Gomes (Fairhaven, Mass.) ended with 11 kills for Dean, while Juan Ruelas Fernandez-Garcia (Milford, Mass.) had five of his own and Joel Carmona (Lawrence, Mass.) chipped in with four.
