Attleboro, Mass. – After a scintillating start to his collegiate career, Dean College freshman striker Felipe Campos (Brockton, Mass.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) men's soccer rookie and player of the week it was announced on Monday by the league office.
Campos has scored all three of his goals in the Bulldogs' last two contests and has Dean off to a 3-0 start.
In a win over Anna Maria, Campos found the back of the net twice as the Bulldogs moved past the AMCATS, 4-1.
Then, in a 1-0 triumph over Clark University on Saturday, Campos recorded the game's lone goal as Dean topped the highly-touted Cougars on their home field – a place they went 7-1 a season ago.
Campos' three goals and corresponding six points leads all scorers in the NECC.
The Bulldogs will put their 3-0 record on the line on Sunday, September 17 when they host Saint Joseph's of Vermont in their home opener. First touch is slated for 2:00 p.m.
