West Boylston, Mass. – Dean College wrapped up the 2018 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Golf Championships with a fifth-place finish on Sunday afternoon at Wachusett Country Club.
Springfield College won the team championship with a two-day total of 615 (+39) – 20 strokes ahead of second-place Elms College (+59).
Mitchell College finished third with a team score of 643 (+67), while host Eastern Nazarene (+109) and the Bulldogs (+149) rounded out the field.
The Springfield duo of Jack Raichle (+4) and Mike Strong (+6), finished first and second, respectively to lead the Pride, while Eastern Nazarene's Jacob Waldroop, who had the tournament's only eagle, finished third.
Charlie Banks (Hanover, Mass.) finished tied for 16th to lead the Dean contingent, carding a two-day total of 167 (+23).
He was followed by Ethan Lessard (Somers, Conn.), who posted a score of 174 (+30), shaving 12 strokes off of his round one score to post an 81 (+9) in the final round.
Vinny Convertino (Plymouth, Mich.) finished tied for 20th overall with a two-day score of 188 (+44), while Corey Langevin (Franklin, Mass.) (+56) and Tyler Langevin (Franklin, Mass.) (+57) were the other Bulldogs competing in the event.
Dean is back on the course on Tuesday when they take part in the Saints Invitational hosted by Emmanuel College at the George Wright Golf Course in Boston, Mass.
