South Hadley, Mass. – Playing on a rainy, soggy course layout, the Dean College men's golf team turned in a 14th place finish at the highly-competitive Blazer Invitational hosted by Elms College.
The Bulldogs checked in with two round combined score of 676. Team champion Babson pulled away from the entire field, posting a two-day score of 598 – 14 strokes better than second-place teams Western New England and Rhode Island College.
Dean's top finisher was senior Austin McCreary (Northampton, Mass.), who carded a two-day score of 158 (+15). He was closely followed by Michael McAuliffe (Dunstable, Mass.) after a stellar round of 78 on Sunday to give him a tournament total of 159 (+16).
Kyle Bemis (Mansfield, Mass.) was the next Bulldog in the clubhouse with a 168 after a final round of 83, while Owen Madigan-Fried (Swampscott, Mass.) ended with a score of 191 (+48) and Harry Caslowitz (Providence, R.I.) posted a tournament score of 211.
Dean is back in action on Wednesday when they take part in the Mitchell Invitational.
