Hyde Park, Mass. – Led by individual medalist Austin McCreary (Northampton, Mass.) the Dean College men's golf team took home the team title at the Saints Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at the George Wright Golf Course.
McCreary, who is fresh off becoming the program's first-ever all-conference performer after his eighth place finish at the NECC Championships over the weekend, kept his hot hand going on the par-70 course layout.
McCreary's round of 75 (+5) was three strokes better than second place performer Colin Cordero of Emmanuel (78) as those two were the only ones to finish with scores in the 70s.
Dean finished with a score of 331 and they were followed by NECC rival Mitchell College (344) and then host Emmanuel (352).
Bulldog freshman Charlie Banks (Hanover, Mass.) posted a fourth place effort with a round of 83, while classmate Vinny Convertino (Canton, Mich.) finished in the top ten as well – recording a round of 85, good for sixth place overall.
Dean's final two participants – Owen Madigan-Fried (Swampscott, Mass.) and Josh McInnis (Topsfield, Mass.) - carded rounds of 88 and 92, respectively.
The incredibly busy stretch for the Bulldogs continues when they take part in a head-to-head match with Albertus Magnus on Friday.
