THE LEAD:
Host Framingham State scored four goals in the first half and the Rams got tallies from eight different student-athletes as they shutout Dean College, 9-0, in non-league field hockey action on Wednesday evening.

The game, which was delayed because of lightning in the area, saw FSU hold a 39-0 edge in shots on the evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
After Mallory Weir put the Rams on the board with a penalty stroke, Grace Thompson followed with her first of the year then Corlene Guenard rattled the back of the cage two more times before the half ended to give Framingham State a 4-0 halftime edge.

Any thoughts of a Bulldog comeback were quickly squashed when two third quarter goals – one from Jordyn O'Boyle and the other from Chelsea Getchell – but the game out of reach for Dean.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Freshman Alexis Masse (Woonsocket, R.I.) only needed to make two saves to collect her first victory last Friday, made 17 stops in between the pipes for the Bulldogs in the loss.

UP NEXT:
Dean is off until next Saturday when they hit the road and take on Salve Regina at 12:00 PM.
