THE LEAD:
Olivia Keane and Madison Messier each scored three goals, while Jeszenia McGuire and Carissa Ramirez both scored twice and visiting Elms College topped Dean College, 11-0, in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) field hockey action on Saturday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
McGuire, Messier and Keane all scored in the first half to give the Blazers a 4-0 halftime lead. When Messier tacked on her third of the game less than two minutes into the second half the game moved to 5-0 but nearly 20 minutes went off the clock before Elms scored again.

Then during a four-minute span the Blazers put the game away with strikes from Keane, McGuire and Evelyn DeVaux.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Elms held a 27-1 edge in shots, with the Bulldogs' lone chance coming off the stick of Jordyn McKenney (Nashua, N.H.).

Amari Dias (Brockton, Mass.) made six saves in goal for Dean, while Jillian Lapponese didn't need to make any saves to record the shutout victory.
