THE LEAD:
Brittany Tierney
scored four of her career-high six goals in the first half and New England College set a school-record for goals in a game as the host Pilgrims posted a 15-0 shutout of Dean College in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) field hockey action on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
NEC got on the board less than five minutes into the contest when Tierney rattled the back of the cage for her first of the night.

Four more goals came over the game's next fifteen minutes before Tierney scored three straight goals to close the half and send the Pilgrims into halftime in front, 8-0.

Seven more goals came in the final 35 minutes, including two more strikes from Tierney and pair from Audrey Carr and two more from Sofia Castriotta.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
In addition to Tierney, both Castriotta and Taylor Daileanes contributed three each. Meanwhile, Dean keeper Amari Dias (Brockton, Mass.) had a busy day in net, facing 27 shots and stopping 12 of them.

UP NEXT:
Dean returns to action on Thursday when they play host to Colby-Sawyer beginning at 3:00 p.m.
