THE LEAD:
Eight different student-athletes found the back of the cage and visiting Sage College won for the first time in program history, topping Dean College, 10-0, in non-league field hockey action on Friday evening.

The Gators scored seven first half goals, including five in the game's first 23 minutes to take control of the contest and never look back.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Hayley Mato got Sage on the board at the 2:32 mark and then Sara O'Connor assisted on a Charity Rushinski tally a little more than five minutes later.

O'Connor then recorded a pair of goals four minutes apart to give the Gators a commanding 4-0 lead.

Micalli Johnston and Cortney Conley each banged the back of the cage before Mato capped the half with her second of the game at 27:40.

Things slowed down considerably in the second half beginning with Hunter Brockmann assisting on a Samantha Marrish less than five minutes into the half.

Kathryn Gallagher (48:03) and Brooke Perry (63:29) wrapped up the scoring for Sage.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
The Gators controlled the game statistically, holding a 27-0 edge in shots and a 12-0 advantage in penalty corners.

Kaitlyn Depp (Westfield, N.J.), making her first career start in goal, recorded 16 saves in between the pipes for Dean.
