Marshfield, Mass. – For the second time in three weeks, a Dean College freshman has been named Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) Rookie of the Week.
After a performance that saw him score a pair of touchdowns and finish with game highs in receptions (5) and receiving yards (84) Quintus Reid (New Haven, Conn.) scooped up the award it was announced on Monday by the league office, joining teammate Terrell Watts who won the honor back in the first week of the season.
Reid scored his second career touchdown on a two-yard run late in the second quarter in the Bulldogs' 27-18 loss at Salve Regina on Saturday.
Then, on the first play of the fourth quarter, Reid caught a pass in between three defenders and outraced everyone to the endzone for a 64-yard score.
So far this season, Reid ranks second in the ECFC in yards per catch (15.1), fourth in receiving yards (212), receiving yards per game (70.2) and fifth in overall receptions (14). He is also just one of two players in the conference to have both a receiving (1) and rushing touchdown (2).
Dean returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Becker College for their final non-conference contest of the season. Kickoff is slated for 2:30 p.m.
