Weekly Preview: September 17-22

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
Two races into the season and the men's cross country team looks to be rounding into shape. Last Saturday they finished second at the Mitchell College Invitational after having four runners finish in the top 20.

This week they head to the Elms College Invitational in Chicopee where they will see several teams they will square off against at the upcoming New England Collegiate Championship.

WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
The women's cross country team has made strong strides just two races into the season and are building towards the conference championship race at the end of October.

This week they head to the Elms College Invitational in Chicopee where a fast course could lead to some of the best times of the season.

FIELD HOCKEY
It had been awhile but the field hockey team won their first game last Friday at Albertus Magnus, 2-0.

After playing just three games in the season's first two weeks after becoming a program again, the pace of the schedule will quicken as they will play four games in an 11-day stretch beginning this Tuesday.

FOOTBALL
The Bulldogs have been in the mix in the second half in all three games thus far but have yet to find the win column. Last Saturday's 27-18 loss at Salve Regina, however, showed signs that the youthful squad is making progress.

Dean heads to Becker College on Saturday to face a Hawks' squad also searching for their first victory.

MEN'S SOCCER
After picking up their first win of the season on Wednesday with a convincing 3-1 home win over Northern Vermont-Lyndon, men's soccer dropped a heartbreaker to New England College in their league opener on Saturday.

A busy eight-day, three-game stretch commences on Wednesday with a visit from Rhode Island College.

WOMEN'S SOCCER
A similar fate fell at the feet of the women's soccer program as they picked up their first win of the season on Thursday with a 3-1 triumph over Massachusetts Maritime. However, they dropped their league opener to Elms College, 2-0, on Saturday at home.

Two difficult opponents await them this week as their five home games in six contests stretch continues this week.

VOLLEYBALL
A busy week saw women's volleyball go 1-3 in four matches against some pretty stiff competition.

The return of All-American Kait Anderson to the lineup should help the Bulldogs this week as they play a pair of matches on Tuesday in advance of their conference opener on the road on Saturday.
